I definitely dont see opportunities to engage on coastal stuff as an individual with an interest in the coast and I am the converted!!There are only 2 coastal partnerships that cover a tiny proportion of the Welsh coast
Will taking a more holistic approach to environmental management by engaging and reflecting needs of communities and well being in conservation and adaptation decisionslead to the need for additional capacity and funding for projects?
Community and businesses that are important in ensuring we can get communities to engage with the coast will have been hard hit by Covid. How can we best support such groups coming out of the crisis?
Are any of your highlighted projects taking advantage of the rise in organisational/corporate ESG directives/targets? ESG = Environmental Social Governance...in case any one is wondering!!
Paul how did the Coasteering community identify the carrying capacity and has it been carried out for all recreational activities in Pembrokeshire. Too great of an increase in activities in an area could lead to a decrease in the activity.
How can sport organisations, like ourselves (National Governing Body of Sport for Boating - RYA Cymru Wales) help support coastal communities to benefit, without having a detrimental impact on the environment inc Tourism, Aquaculture
Paul: Is there any work being done to help develop community adventure activity opportunities and in particular to help them include environmental and habitat protection information during activities?
Thanks for the answers, that’s a very interesting response to ESG and quite telling too i think! I’d say keep your eye on ESG it could be a great way to create collaborations in the future and maybe even secure funding...
