Small changes to a way of life are easier to make and sustain than larger ones. What one small change would you recommend to the private/commercial sectors that would make the most significant positive impact on marine coastal environments?
A drogue is a device we use to check how the tides push water around an estuary - it allows us to check our modelled predictions against the real world.
I missed the final "key aspect that wil affect change to shellfish waters...Was it, whole coast modelling, collaboration? evidence that reflects reality?
@Fergus (Dwr Cymru) – You mentioned the models will be available for wider use, can you elaborate on when/where these will become available and in what context they could be used?
This is still something we are working on but our intention is to allow others to make use of modelling we have developed. I don't have details on this just yet I'm afraid.
@Fergus O'Brien, Ireland plans to increase agricultural production in the future, from your experience in Wales can increased activity in agriculture be achieved without damage to our surface water bodies? Thank you.
I don't have a definite answer to this but my personal view is that they are not necessarily the same thing. I think good farming practice is more important and the new Agriculture white paper for Wales could have very beneficial impact in the long run.
@Fergus O'Brian I work on a community campaign, based Somerset with the aim to protect bathing water quality and reduce beach and marine litter along the Somerset coastline by encouraging local communities to consider their own impacts on water quality and marine litter. Do you engage or plan to engage with any similar community projects throughout Wales? And what benefits have you seen from this engagement?

It was about collaborating to tackle diffuse pollution to deal with those areas that remain at risk.
